Abe Abich

Abe Abich

Founder and CEO

Abe founded Abich Financial Services (AFS) in 2008 and has nearly two decades of experience in financial services. He is a seasoned retirement income planning professional, a Certified Financial Fiduciary®, hosts the D.C. Metro Area Radio show, “Retirement Key Radio” on 105.9 WMAL, and hosts the television show “Retirement Key TV” on WUSA 9.

Abe has helped close to 700 individuals and families prepare for their financial futures and his experience has resulted in the invitation to author articles for Forbes and Fortune and many others, as well as serve as a member of the Forbes Financial Council.

Abe earned his B.S. from Liberty University, where he lived out a dream to pitch for their Division I baseball team. In August 2015, Abe married his wife, Shelly, and they became proud Leesburg residents and teamed up to run AFS as a family firm. With a determination to always give back to the local community, he joined his wife in starting a senior non-profit, served on the board for the Loudoun Habitat for Humanity, and is a member of the Loudoun County Chamber of Commerce and McLean Bible Church. He is an avid Redskins fan, and on weekends enjoys being a local foodie, biking the trails, and boating on the Potomac.

Shelly Abich

Shelly Abich

Chief Experience Officer and Co-Owner

Shelly joined Abich Financial Services in 2015 and serves as the chief experience officer. She leads strategic decision-making and ensures that both prospective and existing clients have a positive experience with AFS. She directs the message that is relayed to the community about what makes AFS unique from other firms and explains this in detail to prospective clients. Through company events and regular communication, she also works to maintain the satisfaction of current clients.

Shelly has 10 years of experience in the new business division for a Fortune 500 company and taught middle school for two years prior to joining AFS. Due to her passion for seniors, she earned a master’s degree in gerontology in 2009 and in 2019 founded the non-profit, Love of Gray, whose mission is to ignite a movement of millennials to see and celebrate seniors. Her close connection with AFS clients has led to their support, including serving as officers on the board.

Originally from Frederick, Maryland, Shelly became a resident of Leesburg, VA when she and Abe married in 2015. She enjoys all outdoor activities and living an organic lifestyle.

Pat Volk

Pat Volk

Investment Advisor

Patrick joined Abich Financial with 30 years of experience as a financial advisor and educator. He has worked both independently, as well as for major firms such as Goldman Sachs, Merrill Lynch, Financial Engines, and Fisher Investments. Patrick has presented countless seminars, written numerous articles, and has managed nearly half a billion dollars in portfolios. Having worked with half of the Fortune 500 companies’ executive and general populations, he has presented on and guided them through taxes, estate planning, investments, and corporate benefits.

Patrick holds a BA in economics from Siena College in Loudonville, NY. In his free time, Patrick is an avid movie fan and loves to dissect films both new and old. He and his wife, Brenda, have five children and currently reside in Ashburn, VA.

Angela Mari

Angela Mari

Licensed Financial Professional

Angela has been part of the Abich Financial Services team since 2015. As a licensed financial professional, she focuses on building retirement profiles during first appointments in preparation for the retirement analyses delivered at follow-up appointments.

Angela lives in Reston, VA, where she enjoys spending time outdoors and touring the NoVA foodie scene. As a female financial professional, she is passionate about creating financial resources geared towards the unique needs of women approaching or in retirement.

Sera Francis

Sera Francis

Client Services Manager

Sera joined Abich Financial in the fall of 2020 with a background in case management and client services from non-profit organizations. She goes above and beyond to create a seamless experience for both the team and the clients at Abich Financial.

Sera earned a degree in business administration at Excelsior College in NY and is currently pursuing her MBA at Liberty University. She is originally from Sri Lanka and enjoys the simple things in life like reading a good book or spending time with family and friends.

John Agustin

John Agustin

Client Services Associate

John comes to Abich Financial with over 20 years of financial experience in government contracting sales and administration and has also worked in both the mortgage and real estate fields. His role at Abich Financial Services includes holding first appointments, preparation support for follow-up appointments, and helping with current client needs.

John is originally from the state of Maryland but has lived in Leesburg, Virginia for the last 15 years. In his free time, he loves being outdoors, playing sports, and spending time with his wife, kids, and two dogs. John also enjoys attending and volunteering at his church Cornerstone Chapel in Leesburg.

Madison Dugas

Madison Dugas

Marketing and Administrative Assistant

Madison joined the team in early 2021 and is the first to greet clients and prospective clients. She is responsible for all administrative duties, including maintaining the office, receptionist duties, and appointment scheduling. She also manages our marketing campaigns, live events, and webinars.

Originally from Seattle, WA, Madison was excited for a change of scenery on the east coast. She enjoys reading books, traveling, as well as baking any chance she gets.
